DAY CAMP F.A.Q.
Q. If one of my kids rides scooter and the other skateboards, can both attend Day Camp on the same day?
A. Yes, based on camp bookings, the appropriately qualified coaching Shed team members will be assigned to the group each day to ensure the best outcome for everyone.
Q. Can BMXers book into all sessions?
A. We are accepting all sports in the groups and will provide the appropriately qualified team members to guide and provide for all riders during school holidays.
Q. How many in a group?
There is a maximum of 10 to 15 riders in Day Camp. The total number accepted to each day’s session is determined by the age, ability level, sport of the first 10 booked.
The Day Campers will have a program similar to that of our Camp Shed group and join the live in Campers across the day in many activities.
Q. Is there a discount for a full week’s booking?
If you would like to do the whole week, consider Camp Shed. Info here.
Q. My child would love to come but we don’t live close by. Can I drop/pick up earlier/later?
A. Sounds like Camp Shed might be a good option for you. See info here
Q. If my child already rides at The Shed all the time, why do we have to complete the Medical Forms?
Our role and involvement with your child during Day Camp or live in camps is different to regular sessions, meaning we need to understand more about any allergies and medical history to ensure our team is aware of any issues or concerns so we can best help if need be or provide the right food options (as we best can).
Q. What ages are the riders?
Minimum age is 7. There is no upper limit, but most Day Campers are under 15.
Q. What happens on the Skate Park Trip?
On each Thursday of the Camp Shed live in 5-day program, we take our campers out on a bus trip to visit some of Melbourne – and Victoria’s – most famous outdoor skate parks to deploy the skills they’ve been learning at The Shed.
It includes meals and is loads of fun. However, only skateboarders can go on the skate camp trip, and scooters on the scoot camp trip. These are run separately.
Bookings are taken on the phone only to check it is the right Camp for your child.
Q. If we book for a week and my child doesn’t like it, can we cancel?
A. We’d suggest that kids who have not spent a lot of time riding ramps come and try the park out before booking in for multiple days. We do cater for all levels of rider, however, if your child is a beginner and decides they do not enjoy ramp riding we can follow our usual 24 hour cancellation policy.
Q. Can we change the date after we’ve booked and paid?
A. As long as you make the change prior to the 24 hour notice requirements, we will attempt to change the date. Please note, that as spaces are limited, there may not be spaces available – in which case you will be refunded. Date changes within 24 hours of the booking cannot be honoured.
